The Genoa Public Prosecutor's Office has opened a case on the death of a one-year-old girl that occurred this morning in a house in Maconesi, a town in the hinterland of Genoa.
The little girl was taken by her parents to the emergency room in Lavagna last night for abdominal pain: she was discharged, because it seemed that the situation was under control, and sent home. And here today her little heart stopped beating. It was her parents who raised the alarm. The Red Cross volunteers, the 118 doctors and the firefighters' helicopter rescue intervened on the spot, but every intervention was in vain.
The little girl apparently did not overcome an intestinal crisis. The autopsy tests ordered by the Prosecutor's Office could shed light on any malformations or congenital defects never previously diagnosed. The Carabinieri of the Chiavari company also intervened on the scene.
