The off-duty State Police officer who this morning in Milan, while driving his car, hit a 25-year-old man on the crosswalk, who later died in hospital, has been arrested for testing positive for breathalyzer .
The accident occurred around 5:40 a.m. in the eastern part of the city, on Via Adelchi. According to the investigation by local police, coordinated by the on-duty prosecutor Maurizio Ascione, the car was traveling at high speed when it struck the victim.
The policeman, also 25, stopped to provide first aid after hitting the boy and is now under house arrest.
