Family drama in Lazise, in the province of Verona. A 46-year-old man, Marco Campagnari, stabbed his 67-year-old father, Franco, to death.

The two argued, then the son launched blows to the throat, and also used a hammer to hit the parent on the head.

The crime took place in the house where the two lived: the father on the upper floor, the son on the lower floor.

When the police arrived on site they found the kitchen with blood stains splattered everywhere on the walls. Relations between the two had been very tense for some time and had resulted in several arguments. The chatter of the neighbors suggests that the house, owned by the victim, who in the area was confidentially called Gige, was the object of the constant friction.

The parent, well known in the village for being a sweets merchant, apparently decided to sell the house in which he no longer actually lived after moving to Peschiera del Garda, to a second residence he owned. A sale that would have allowed him to close the sweet shop and enjoy his old age by the lake. A life project to which the eldest son was against because it would have forced him to move house and above all to pay the cost.

Marco Campagnari was in the garage, in a state of confusion. He is in custody.
