The Rome Public Prosecutor's Office has opened a file, currently without any suspects or suspected crimes, in relation to a complaint filed by a university professor from Brescia on the academic career of Minister of Labor Marina Calderone at Link Campus University.

Professor Saverio Regasto, a full professor of comparative public law, asks the prosecutors in the complaint, which includes press reports, to ascertain whether the titles acquired in 2012 and 2016 by the minister are the result of irregularities and, if so, whether they could constitute a criminal hypothesis.

"I take note with great satisfaction of what my lawyer, Cesare Placanica, communicated to me, that is, the determination of the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Rome who, with reference to the complaint filed against me in relation to my university career, has established the non-existence of any hypothesis of crime and consequently has not entered any suspect in the register of crime reports - commented Calderone -. For me, after such authoritative endorsement, fully in accordance with what I have always maintained, the story ends here . At this point I have the duty to proceed for the crime of defamation for every malicious insinuation against me ".

In recent days, the minister had already said she was "extremely calm": her path, she said, "is absolutely clear and correct, so I have no worries whatsoever."

"The spirit in which I sent the complaint was precisely that of shedding light on a story that, according to press articles, seemed rather singular to me - Regasto's words -. Now I hope that the investigations will take their course, clarifying facts and circumstances both of the University and of the minister ".
