Martina Gentile, daughter of the teacher Laura Bonafede, the woman who for years had a relationship with the boss Matteo Messina Denaro, was arrested. The charges are aiding and abetting and aggravated failure to comply with the sentence.

The Palermo Prosecutor's Office had already requested precautionary custody in prison for the girl, whom the fugitive godfather considered like a daughter, but the investigating judge did not consider that there were sufficient clues. Now, following the new investigative material collected by the carabinieri, the judge has ordered the suspect to be placed under house arrest.

According to the magistrates, Martina Gentile - whose virtues were praised in various "pizzini" signed by Messina Denaro - would have managed the exchange of correspondence from the boss, who was at large at the time, exploiting her relationship with another intermediary of the godfather, Lorena Lanceri, ended up in handcuffs with her husband in recent months. Lanceri, considered one of the closest supporters of Castelvetrano's godfather, gave the girl the pizzini written by the mafia boss and Gentile sent them to the recipients, including her mother Laura Bonafede. The exchange often took place in the studio of the architect and former urban planning councilor of the municipality of Campobello di Mazara where the two women worked.

The suspect, code-named by Messina Denaro Tan or Tany, shared with the godfather and the other subjects who spoke with him a sort of coded language designed to hide the identity of the other people involved in assisting the fugitive and took care of the the boss's logistical needs.
