Salvatore Ocone, the man accused of killing his wife Elisa Polcino in Paulisi, in the province of Benevento, has been arrested in Campobasso.

The crime was reportedly committed after an argument broke out in the couple's home: the 58-year-old worker grabbed a stone and began violently hitting his wife on the head and face.

The 49-year-old woman, whom everyone in the area called Elisa, was found lifeless on the bed .

The man then ran away, trying to cover his tracks.

But the police stopped him in the evening.

Two of his three children, aged 15 and 16, were in the car with him. Contrary to what was initially reported, the son died, while his sister is in hospital in serious condition.
