A tragedy narrowly avoided late this morning in a garage on Via Giacomo Zanella in Milan.

An 84-year-old man, due to a wrong maneuver while exiting the multi-story garage, broke through the glass wall on the first floor and remained suspended for several minutes at a height of approximately eight meters.

The Milan Fire Department immediately arrived on the scene to provide first aid, with three vehicles from the headquarters and the Piazzale Cuoco detachment. After extracting the visibly shaken and shocked driver from the vehicle, they secured the area.

A few more centimeters, and the car - the firefighters explain - could have crashed with much more serious consequences for the elderly driver, who was transported by 118 to the nearby Policlinico.
