And ten years in prison also for Luca Lucci , head of the Milan Curva Sud accused of instigating the attempted murder of the ultra Enzo Anghinelli and of criminal association. These are two of the sentences issued by the preliminary hearing judge of Milan Rossana Mongiardo , in the abbreviated trial with several strands on the San Siro curves. In addition to the 16 sentences issued, the judge recognized compensation for the defendants for financial and image damages: 20,000 euros to the Lega Serie A, 50,000 each to Inter and Milan.
The judge, in the bunker courtroom in front of the San Vittore prison in Milan, read the sentence in the abbreviated trial, behind closed doors, with several parts, including those on the two criminal associations ( that of the Curva Nord with the aggravating circumstance of mafia due to its links with the 'ndrangheta ), on the Bellocco murder and on the attempted murder of the AC Milan fan Enzo Anghinelli.
In addition to the convictions of the ultra leaders Beretta and Lucci, the preliminary hearing judge of Milan Rossana Mongiardo
he also sentenced 14 other defendants, including Lucci's deputy in the Curva Sud, Daniele Cataldo, to 10 years in prison, also considered the material perpetrator of the 2019 attempted murder of AC Milan fan Enzo Anghinelli. Marco Ferdico, also one of the leaders of the Nord board before his arrests last September, was sentenced to 8 years, again as requested by the DDA prosecutor Paolo Storari.
The judge recognized all the charges contested by the Milanese DDA, including criminal associations, one with the aggravating circumstance of mafia. She did not recognize only one charge of extortion, among the many charges . To the relatives of Antonio Bellocco, a 'ndrangheta member and member of the Curva Nord board and killed by Beretta in September, the preliminary hearing judge recognized a provisional compensation of 520,000 euros against the former ultras leader.
The trial was against 16 ultras in total, including leaders of the Curva Sud and their associates, and was the result of investigations by the prosecutors of the Milan DDA Paolo Storari and Sara Ombra of the Prosecutor's Office directed by Marcello Viola, who had led to the maxi "double curve" blitz in September by the Police and Gdf with 19 arrests. While the first degree trial was concluding, outside the bunker courtroom the Rossoneri ultras of the Curva Sud organized a solidarity demonstration .
For Beretta, who filled out numerous reports including the 2022 murder of the historic Inter ultra leader Vittorio Boiocchi, a cold case later solved, the Prosecutor's Office had asked for 9 years, while for Lucci the same prosecutors had asked for 10 years .
