He was taking his usual afternoon walk with his labrador when he was hit by a pirate car . The driver, instead of helping him, got out of the vehicle to quickly check the situation and ran away, leaving him unconscious and bleeding on the side of the road . It happened in Verano Brianza , in the Monza area. The man, 65-year-old Agostino Gualdi , remained at the scene of the accident for a long time , until help arrived on site, led by the dog.

The injured animal had traveled that stretch many times, not far from the highway to Monza. So, little by little, he managed to find his way home. Once he arrived at his destination he lay down in the kennel. A relative of the man's partner found him. Given his condition and the blood all over his body, the suspicion immediately arose that something could have happened to the owner too.

The woman - who knew Gualdi's usual route - found the man, with very serious injuries all over his body. And he raised the alarm. 118, who arrived on site, revived him. Then the rush to the Niguarda hospital in Milan. The doctors are worried not only by the many fractures but especially by the two large hematomas on the head, resulting from internal hemorrhages. His health conditions remain very serious .

The Carabinieri are now investigating the accident. Witnesses reported that the wanted car stopped for a moment after the impact. The driver apparently got out of the vehicle and - after a quick check - left towards Mariano Comense. It was not clear that it had been an investment, so the memories of those present are not precise and there are conflicting details on the color of the vehicle and the license plate. The military is therefore looking for images from surveillance cameras in the area , so as to be able to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident and identify the driver at the wheel.
