It happened last night, in Castellammare di Stabia (Naples). And everything was also immortalized by cell phones.

"A man is attempting suicide, he wants to jump from the balcony!": this is the report received at the operations center. The apartment in question is on the third floor in Via San Catello and when the military arrive on site the screams mix between those who are desperate and those who are angry. On the ledge - clinging - a man in his forties while from the windows and in the street people loudly ask the police to arrest him .

In those minutes the firefighters also arrive while the military reconstructs the incident. This is not a suicide attempt.

That man, clinging to the ledge with all his strength, had shortly before entered the home of a 70-year-old pensioner and ransacked the apartment to steal anything that might be of value. Surprised by the neighborhood, he attempted to escape by escaping from the apartment window but the height blocked his hopes .

The firefighters saved the man and the police then arrested him.

The 36-year-old is awaiting trial and faces charges of attempted theft.
