A 40-year-old Nigerian citizen, who had ingested ovules containing over 280 grams of cocaine, was identified at the port of Civitavecchia by the Finance Police of the Provincial Command of Rome while he was embarking for Olbia.

The Guardia di Finanza had already become suspicious of his strange behavior, confirmation came thanks to the nose of the drug-sniffing dog "Jackpot". Medical tests at the San Paolo Hospital in Civitavecchia revealed that he had 18 ovules full of drugs in his abdomen.

The man was arrested for the crime of drug trafficking and taken to prison at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The operation is part of a broader device to combat illicit trafficking implemented at the ports and airports of the Capital.
