He tries to cut his wife's throat and then hangs himself: tragedy in a house

A 72-year-old woman is in danger of life in Brindisi after being attacked by her husband, her age, who then took his own life.

According to an initial reconstruction of the facts, the old woman was in bed, at the first light of the morning, when her husband hit her in the throat with a knife taken from the kitchen. Despite the injury, however, the woman managed to escape from a back door and raise the alarm and some family members intervened, who also alerted the rescue.

In the meantime, the husband went to the veranda of the house - a cottage - and here he hanged himself with a rope.

The 72-year-old is now in a reserved prognosis, hospitalized in the otolaryngology department of the hospital in the Apulian city, where she underwent a delicate surgery.

The Brindisi carabinieri are conducting investigations. It seems that the relationship between the two spouses had been strained and cracked for some time.
