A 54-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her 57-year-old ex-husband, who first fled and then turned himself in to the Carabinieri in Ceparana, in the province of La Spezia.

According to initial reports, despite a restraining order , he approached his ex-wife at a villa where she worked as a domestic worker and stabbed her three times in the side, then fled. A witness reportedly witnessed the incident and immediately called for help.

The Carabinieri of La Spezia and the ambulance arrived on the scene. Paramedics attempted resuscitation several times, but there was nothing they could do for the woman.

The escape ended an hour later in Ceparana where the 57-year-old, who in the meantime had disposed of the knife used in the crime, turned himself in .
