The tragedy occurred yesterday evening in Arsego, in the province of Padua.
A 52-year-old, at the wheel of his Fiat Ducato, did not notice the presence of his mother, an 81-year-old, while maneuvering and ran over her. It was a passerby who told him what had happened.
The operators of the Suem 118 intervened on the spot but for the victim every aid was useless.
The son, under investigation for manslaughter, is in shock. Neighbors tell of the deep bond with the mother especially since she was widowed.
