In July 2019, he ran over and killed two 11-year-old cousins on board his SUV.

Now Rosario Greco, three years later, is under house arrest.

A story that took place in Vittoria (Ragusa) that shocked the whole of Italy which was talked about for days: the man, 34 years old at the time, was under the influence of alcohol and drugs and was going at full speed when he overwhelmed the two boys - Alessio and Simone D'Antonio - who were on the doorstep of the house. Then he fled, but was tracked down.

Greco has already left prison for three days and is under house arrest. Sentenced to 9 years on appeal, the Court of Cassation in March annulled the sentence with postponement, therefore a new second degree trial must be held against the man.

“We are angry and disappointed ”, thunders Alessandro D'Antonio, Alessio's father, “this is unjust justice, we cannot understand what motivation the judge may have found to grant house arrest”.

“You haven't seen the film of the investment, you haven't followed the case, don't you know that two children are dead? Or are there other reasons? Not even three years have passed and he is already under house arrest ”, he urges.

In recent days, the D'Antonio family recalled the children's birthday: Alessio was born on May 29, Simone on June 3.

“They would have turned 14, the age of projects - continues D'Antonio -. We should have celebrated, thought about the license, the moped. And instead we celebrated the mass of suffrage. And while we serve our life sentence, whoever killed them leaves prison . I cannot accept this. Is this the state? Is this justice? We are very angry. A few months ago they canceled the trial in the Supreme Court, which will now have to be redone. Now the news of the release. The state has disappointed us for the third time ”.
