He killed his son to defend his wife: sentenced to 11 years
The sentence for Edoardo Borghini, charged with murder. Having recognized mitigating circumstances and provocation, the Prosecutor's Office had requested a 22-year sentence.

The Assize Court of Novara sentenced Edoardo Borghini to 11 years in prison for the murder of his son Nicolò , killed on 19 January 2025 with two rifle shots at the height of a family argument in their home in Ornavasso (Verbano-Cusio-Ossola).
The Verbania prosecutor's office had requested a 22-year sentence for the 64-year-old. The judges recognized the prevailing mitigating circumstances and the accusation of provocation. Edoardo Borghini allegedly killed his son to defend his wife from an attack. The sentencing reasons will be released within a fortnight.
