This is how Edoardo Zattin, from Este (Padua), died at the age of 18. The 118 operators urgently transferred him to the Padua hospital, where the young man underwent an operation but woke up again, until his death last Friday, two days after hospitalization.
Now the prosecutor wants to see clearly: it has opened a file without suspects by arranging the autopsy on the body and has begun to listen to some witnesses.
In fact, initially it was thought of a sudden illness, also according to what was reported by the owner of the Monselice gym, also in the Padua area. But medical sources have revealed the hypothesis of a head injury caused by a blow that the young man may have suffered in a very delicate area above the ear. A blow that would have caused the rupture of a vessel and therefore a cerebral hemorrhage.
Edoardo had just completed a simulation of a meeting with a partner. It's called sparring boxing, a few-minute fight that doesn't involve direct contact, but something may not have gone the right way, suspect the investigators who also want to ascertain whether Zattin and his partner were wearing helmets and gloves.
The parents of the young man, who authorized the removal of organs for donation, closed in silence. Great grief also for the boy's fiancée and many friends. Edoardo had turned 18 on February 4, played basketball and had only recently approached boxing.
