The story that held the village of Torre del Lago, in Viareggio, with bated breath yesterday afternoon, ended with a blitz at home.
A 44-year-old man barricaded himself at home refusing to be subjected to compulsory medical treatment (Tso) and, at the intervention of the police, a shot from inside the house started which, through the door, he injured a firefighter.
The 90-year-old father of the man is also at home, and now investigations are underway to understand which of the two shot.
The situation was unblocked by the intervention of the Nocs of the state police: the neighbors heard a loud explosion and, shortly after, the 44-year-old and his father were taken out of the building.
Electricity, as well as gas, had been suspended since the afternoon in the house.
The two were arrested on charges of involuntary manslaughter and illegal possession of firearms.
