The hearing for the assignment of the specialists who will be responsible for the evidentiary incident in the new investigations into the murder of Chiara Poggi , killed 18 years ago in Garlasco, began today at the Court of Pavia . The hearing comes more than a month after the previous one, when the work was blocked after the request for recusal, by the prosecutor, of the geneticist Emiliano Giardina. The request came for an interview given by the expert to “Le Iene” in 2017, where he had expressed his opinions on the Poggi case and on the DNA found on the victim's nails.
Today in the courtroom the new geneticist in charge, Denise Albani, will be sworn in . With her, the superintendent Domenico Marchigiani will also be assigned, who will deal with the comparison and analysis of the fingerprints that in part had not been analyzed at the time of the first investigations.
" Today is an important stage but there will be others, including investigations . We want to observe this investigation for a long time. The possibility of a review in the event of new developments is currently in the background for us". This is what Alberto Stasi's lawyer, Antonio De Rensis, said upon entering the Pavia Public Prosecutor's Office. "I see that the investigators have great determination - he added -. We expect that this investigation will be able to rewrite this story ". De Rensis spoke on the sidelines of the hearing for the assignment of tasks, today at the Pavia Public Prosecutor's Office, on the new line of investigation into the Garlasco murder.
