The investigations underway since this morning in Garlasco (Pavia) and Voghera (Pavia) continue on the case of the murder of Chiara Poggi, the 26-year-old killed in her home on August 13, 2007. After the searches by the Carabinieri underway in the homes of Andrea Sempio, a new suspect in the Garlasco case, and his parents, the attention of the investigators has now shifted to Tromello, a small town in Lomellina, still in the province of Pavia. According to rumors, they are looking for a possible murder weapon that, according to a witness, was thrown into a canal . As part of the new investigations, today the Carabinieri of the investigative unit also carried out searches on Mattia Capra and Roberto Freddi , the two friends of Marco Poggi who, as was already stated in the documents, frequented "the victim's home" at the time. The investigators had already acquired biological material from the two young people for comparisons, in view of the consultancy, and also for the activities of the evidentiary incident, whose hearing for the assignment of the tasks is scheduled for Friday in Pavia. According to what has been learned, the murder weapon that the carabinieri are looking for in Tromello, a small town in Lomellina, also in the province of Pavia, is a poker from the Poggi house that – according to a witness – was thrown into a canal. «All the fireplace tools are still there», confirmed Rita Poggi, Chiara's mother.

The investigation into the alleged murder weapon in Garlasco in 2007 is based, as far as we know, on the testimony of a man, collected in recent months by the program “Le Iene”, who said he saw a person, a woman, throw a metal object into a canal . A canal located in Tormello, in the Pavia area, near a house that was owned by the grandmother of the Cappa twins, cousins of Chiara Poggi, and where the activities of the Carabinieri and firefighters are concentrated. Starting from this new testimony, the Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit, coordinated by the Pavia Prosecutor's Office headed by Fabio Napoleone, have decided to carry out searches in the canal 18 years after the murder. An investigation that had never been done before. The Cappa twins are not listed as being investigated in the documents.
