Over 5 thousand tons of counterfeit and marketed heating pellets seized by the Guardia di Finanza in a wide-ranging operation that affected the whole national territory.

Fifty-two business owners , retailers, producers, importers and wholesalers in the sector have been reported: they will have to answer for the crimes of counterfeiting and fraud in the trade .

During the operation, 47 industrial machinery and plants destined for the production of illegal pellets were also seized as well as over 1.5 million empty bags destined to be filled and placed on the market with false indications and counterfeit certification marks relating to quality and compliance. environmental.

IN SARDINIA - On the island, a pellet production plant and six tons of material were seized in Sassari by the financiers: one person was also reported and 64,000 bags of goods with counterfeit brands were seized.

The operation was born following an in-depth analysis and risk analysis carried out by the financiers of the Special Goods and Services Unit of Rome who, by crossing the data relating to imports, national production, sales and certification holders, have detected anomalous profiles worthy of investigation through the execution of targeted inspections on the territory.
