Giuseppe Vicenzi, the Veronese entrepreneur and king of biscuits , died at the age of 92.

Awarded the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro in 2021 , since the 1960s he had been at the helm of the family confectionery company, a leader in the production of biscuits, ladyfingers, amaretti and sfogliatine, founded in 1907 by his grandmother Matilde and then continued by his father Angelo. A tradition that he had carried forward by transforming a family-run laboratory into a large international group .

Lately, he continued to go to work every day, "even on Saturday mornings, so I can have a coffee with the managers," he said in a recent interview with Corriere del Veneto.

A widower with three daughters, his passing also leaves a mourning in the world of sport : the name Vicenzi has long been linked to the Verona basketball team .
