Armando Sommajuolo, historical face of the La7 broadcaster and, in the past, of TeleMontecarlo, has died at the age of 70.

«This morning Armando Sommajolo passed away, a columnist on this news program since the days when it was called Tmc news until 2015. For many of you a friendly face, for us a beloved work companion, a solid, positive, professional professional , and above all a good man. A hug to his loved ones", wrote Enrico Mentana , director of Tg La7, on social media.

Sommajolo, born in Rome, hosted both the news and in-depth programs on the network for years and had also been sent to cover numerous news events.

He had been retired since 2015.
