Fake goods for 4 million euros seized at the port of Genoa

The counterfeit goods seized at the port of Genoa by the soldiers of the II Group of the Guardia di Finanza and by the officials of the Anti-Fraud Departments of the Excise, Customs and Monopoly Agency would have guaranteed proceeds of more than 4 million euros.

During the "False Step" operation, a traffic of fake products arriving from China was discovered.

Over 120,000 items of clothing and footwear with counterfeit brands identified. The chemists of the Customs Agency have ascertained that over 35 thousand shoes the concentration of "phthalates" , a toxic substance, was 1,500 times higher than the limits allowed by EU legislation .
