Explosion in a trullo: a man found dead under the rubble, his wife in serious condition

Dramatic explosion inside a trullo in the countryside of Cisternino , in the province of Brindisi . Found dead under the rubble is 55-year-old Nicola Salatino while his 53-year-old wife was injured and transported to the hospital in red code.

The explosion was reportedly caused by a gas leak .

Civil protection personnel and the Carabinieri were also on site.

After the explosion, the trullo suffered extensive damage, with some parts completely collapsing. In the structure in these days there were a total of 4 people but the other two remaining were not inside at the time of the explosion.
