Explosion in a house, one dead

An explosion, followed by a fire, occurred during the night in a house in Sortino, in the province of Syracuse. A man died. His name was Vincenzo Failla, he was a 56-year-old forest worker.

A woman, the victim's sister, was extracted alive from under the rubble of the two-story building.

Firefighters operate on the spot. The reasons behind the tragedy which, from the first checks, would have been caused by a gas leak need to be clarified.
