The risk of intensive care for the unvaccinated compared to those on the third dose "is 85 times greater for those over 80; 12.8 times greater for the 60-79 year old group; 6.1 times greater for 40-59 year olds ".
These are the data contained in the Extended Report of the Higher Institute of Health (Iss) which integrates the weekly monitoring on Covid, published today.
In particular, looking at the incidence on the population (the only useful data given that there are many more vaccinated people and the data in absolute numbers cannot be compared), these are the numbers provided by the ISS relating to the period from November 11 to December 11.
DIAGNOSIS - Even on the simple contagion front, the vaccine proves to be effective: the diagnoses of positivity on the unvaccinated are in fact 1919.2 per 100 thousand inhabitants; on vaccinated for over 150 days 804.4; on vaccinated for less than 150 days 526.8; on who received the third dose 291.4.
ADMISSIONS - Let's now move on to hospitalizations: among the no vax 118.1 out of 100 thousand inhabitants; among those vaccinated for over 150 days 20.5; among those vaccinated for less than 150 days 11.2; among those vaccinated with dose booster 9.4.
INTENSIVE THERAPIES - Intensive care chapter: among the no vax 16.5 per 100 thousand inhabitants; among those vaccinated for over 150 days 1.4; among those vaccinated for less than 150 days 0.8; among those vaccinated with booster dose 1.4.
VICTIMS - Finally, deaths: among the unvaccinated 23.4 per 100 thousand inhabitants; among those vaccinated for over 150 days 3.1; among those vaccinated for less than 150 days 2.1; among vaccinated with dose booster 1.6.
IMPORTANT THE BOOSTER DOSE - After 150 days from the completion of the vaccination cycle, "the effectiveness of the vaccine in preventing the disease, both in the symptomatic and asymptomatic form, drops from 71.5% to 30.1%".
The effectiveness in preventing cases of severe disease remains high: in vaccinated people with a complete cycle for less than 5 months it is 92.7%, while it drops to 82.2% in vaccinated people who have completed the vaccination cycle for more than 150 days.
The effectiveness in preventing diagnosis and cases of severe disease rises to 71.0% and 94.0% respectively in subjects vaccinated with a dose booster, we read again in the ISS report.
