The appeal filed by Sardinia and Puglia to the Constitutional Court, on the subject of differentiated autonomy, did not please Lombardy. The Region has in fact decided to oppose the choice of the other two, which contest the "unconstitutionality" of the law, and for this reason ask for its annulment.
The regional councils of Puglia and Sardinia, together with Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Campania, have also given the green light to the request for a referendum against autonomy. The one voted today by the council is "an act to protect Lombardy and the Lombards against those who - explain the president of the Region Attilio Fontana and the Lombard undersecretary for Autonomy Mauro Piazza - want to prevent us from implementing what is provided for by the Constitution".
As Lombardy " we do not want to replace the government , which will certainly be able to assert its reasons - they conclude - but we cannot accept that other Regions try to damage us in a legitimate path and that will allow Lombardy to run even faster by assuming its own responsibilities".
Governor Alessandra Todde's response came quickly: "Sardinia will continue to fight head-on against differentiated autonomy despite the complaints of Fontana or Zaia or some other member of the Northern League with a grudge. We have presented our appeal to the Constitutional Court and we are on the front lines against those who want to divide Italy and weaken Sardinia ."
