Death of Liliana Resinovich, the Prosecutor's Office: attacked and suffocated by her husband

After four years, the expected turning point in the complex and intricate story of Liliana Resinovich seems to have arrived: the prosecutor in charge of the investigation, Ilaria Iozzi, accuses Sebastiano Visintin, Liliana Resinovich's husband, of having "attacked and suffocated" the woman. She does not do so publicly but engraves it in the request for an evidentiary incident, anticipated by the newspaper Il Piccolo. And she also indicates a place and a time frame: according to the public prosecutor, in compliance with the expert report recently filed by Cristina Cattaneo and other experts, Liliana would have been killed by her husband "in the park of the former psychiatric hospital". That is, where she would have been found on December 5, 2022, wrapped in two of those large black bags used for solid urban waste.
As stated in the report, Liliana, small and puny, «inside the park of the former Opp, near via Weiss, at number 21», had suffered «grabs, compressions, blows, bumps and scratches, all directed at different parts of the head, right hand, chest and limbs». Gestures and actions that caused «death by direct external suffocation (external mechanical asphyxia), as a consequence of grabbing and compression of the victim's face».
And as the expert report claims, all this would have happened on December 14, 2021, that is, the day of her disappearance. The evidentiary incident was requested in order to take the testimony of Claudio Sterpin, Liliana's friend with whom it seems she was supposed to go and live.
The request for an evidentiary incident, Il Piccolo points out, was filed on May 21st with the investigating judge of the Court of Trieste Flavia Mangiante. The conviction of the PM is diametrically opposed to the conclusions reached by the Prosecutor's Office previously, when the theory of suicide was supported, although many elements seemed strange. Such as the manner of death: Liliana was found with her head wrapped in two transparent bags used for food, tied with a string around her throat. And her body inside two garbage bags.
