«We will see in the coming months and weeks what Vannacci's job will be, as he was not kicked out of the Armed Forces and as any manager must have a job. His Armed Forces will offer him an alternative job." Thus the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto on the case of the general and author of the book "Il Mondo al Contrario" , containing homophobic insults and attacks on feminism, environmentalism and illegal immigrants.
«I told General Vannacci – continues Crosetto – that I will apply the rules and give all the guarantees and protections needed as I would with anyone . You can write and present the book, that's not the theme."
And answering journalists' questions on what the future of the military will be: "If it is operational, this is not up to me but to the Armed Forces and the dialogue that will take place between them."
