Underestimated numbers, peak not yet reached and risk of a further increase in infections, especially in view of autumn.
For this Walter Ricciardi, consultant to the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza, invites us not to let our guard down on Covid, despite the end of the emergency.
Autumn, he says, "will be a delicate and difficult time, with conditions favorable to the virus". For this, he adds, "a new dose of vaccine will be needed for everyone".
The hope is to have "all-encompassing" vaccines that work well against the new variants in circulation: "When they arrive, a booster for everyone will be advisable."
Given the data, it is better to use masks, adds Ricciardi, not only indoors, but “also outdoors in gatherings”.
At the moment the fourth dose of the vaccine is recommended, and not mandatory, for guests of the RSA, the over eighty and extremely frail people.
