The Guardia di Finanza is conducting searches at the Ministry of Defense, RFI, Terna, and Polo Strategico Nazionale as part of an investigation by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, a follow-up to the investigation into Sogei, which alleges corruption, money laundering, and self-laundering, as well as bid-rigging and influence peddling.

At the center of the investigation, coordinated by Deputy Chief of Staff Lorenzo Del Giudice, are alleged irregularities in IT procurement. A total of 26 people are under investigation.

Among those searched were Defense Generals, managers of public companies, and entrepreneurs.
