A 14-year-old student who attended a technical institute in Cremona died this morning after being taken ill during physical education class at school.

The boy suddenly collapsed to the ground while doing gymnastics with his classmates in the gym of another school, a support structure for the high school. The rescue efforts, promptly alerted, were in vain: the student, a resident of the city, died during transport to the hospital.

"We are all shocked," explained the principal, "they were doing a relay race in the gym, nothing special. At a certain point he collapsed. Emergency services immediately started, one of the teachers went to get the defibrillator immediately, in the meantime we called 118, which arrived immediately. It was an interminable and shocking scene. We still don't realize what happened, we did everything we could."

Investigations, as always in similar cases, are ongoing. According to what has been learned so far, the school had no reports of any particular pathologies: no medical certificate advising caution or, specifically, avoiding physical education. The boy's mother, alerted with the father by the school management, was taken ill upon arrival at school and then taken to the hospital.
