The Rome Prosecutor's Office has requested the dismissal of the investigation into former Roma player Francesco Totti, who is being investigated for child abandonment. The filing was related to a complaint filed by Ilary Blasi, alleging that the former Roma number 10 left his youngest daughter alone for several hours one evening in May 2023.
According to today's Repubblica, the request for dismissal reveals that the footballer's current partner, Noemi Bocchi, is also under investigation for the same charges (her two minor children were also present at the home), while the nanny is accused of falsely claiming to have been present at the home to provide the couple with an alibi.
Ilary Blasi's lawyers opposed the request to dismiss the case, and the hearing before the judge is scheduled for December 1st.
According to the TV host's complaint, the youngest daughter was supposed to spend the evening with her father, who, however, left the house. However, the magistrates in Piazzale Clodio found no real danger to the minors. The girl had a phone with which she could call her mother, she was with older children, and the babysitter—though not present—was "presumably" available to come up immediately because she lives in the same building.
"The prosecutor's request to dismiss the case is precisely justified based on the facts established," maintains Totti's lawyer, Gianluca Tognozzi. "In any case, it seems to me that the whole thing is instrumental to the civil litigation."
