From what we learn the man, homeless and originally from Eastern Europe , was in a cottage in the countryside, when at dawn the two dogs, free at that moment, attacked him, leaving him no way out .

The alarm was raised by a passer-by, who heard the excruciating screams .

The police arrived on the spot. In the meantime, the owner also arrived, who tried to keep the dogs away from the victim and was injured. Instead, relief efforts for the 66-year-old were useless.

The two pit bulls were then sedated and entrusted to the veterinary service of the ASL of Foggia.

The military investigates the incident and is trying to understand why the dogs were left free and the possible responsibilities of the owner.
