Sixteen years in prison is the sentence handed down today by the Court of Appeal of Turin to Victor Ulinici, one of the five young people accused in the case of the bicycle thrown on the Murazzi riverside that seriously injured the Palermo student Mauro Glorioso, who was left tetraplegic, on the night between 20 and 21 January 2023.
The defendant, charged with attempted murder, was not granted the mitigating circumstances as ordered by the Court of Cassation in annulling the previous sentence of ten years and eight months.
Another adult girl, Sara Cherici, had chosen the ordinary rite and her trial ended last January 9 with a sentence of 16 years. For the three minors who were part of the group that evening, the first-instance sentences, in abbreviated form, were confirmed last March, with sentences of 9 years and 9 months, 9 years and 4 months, 6 years and 8 months.
