Fabrizio Corona investigated for aggravated defamation by the Milan prosecutor's office after the complaints of the Roma striker Stephan El Shaarawy and the Lazio defender Nicolò Casale, both brought into play in the betting case in recent days by the former photographic agent in the TV show Striscia la Notizia .

«Although I am not inclined to expose myself publicly, my reaction can only be very firm. What happened was, in no uncertain terms, an infamous operation and, what is even worse, surgically orchestrated ", wrote El Shaarawy in the complaint for aggravated defamation filed last Friday with the Milan Prosecutor's Office by his lawyers, Matteo Uslenghi and Federico Venturi Ferriolo.

"To protect myself, the club to which I am linked and, ultimately, Italian football - the Giallorossi player further explained - its authors must certainly be held accountable and dissuaded from any similar initiatives ."

As for Casale, as the lawyer Guido Furgiuele explained, "he has never bet on a sporting event and the pillory to which he is subjected on the basis of the word of a full-blown criminal, ready to do anything to have media visibility, is unacceptable ."

On 18 June on Striscia the Corona news had mentioned El Shaarawy, Casale and Federico Gatti, Juventus defender. At the moment, in the investigation by the Turin Prosecutor's Office, from what has become known in recent days, Nicolò Fagioli, Sandro Tonali and Nicolò Zaniolo are being investigated for betting on illegal platforms. Names that had been disclosed by Corona before it was known of their involvement in the investigations.
