The three skiers swept away by the avalanche that broke away from Forcella Giau, on the west side of the San Vito di Cadore area at an altitude of 2,300 metres, have been found and rescued . The alarm was raised around 1 pm by the fourth ski mountaineer in the group , who immediately began searching for his companions.

The three were identified by rescuers. One is conscious, two are in serious condition. The Suem helicopter from Pieve di Cadore managed to land on site. The variable cloud cover prevented the Treviso emergency air ambulance from approaching, a third air ambulance and the Air service center helicopter were also activated to transport the teams to altitude.

Also on site were the Alpine Rescue teams from San Vito di Cadore, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Alleghe-Val Fiorentina, Livinallongo.
