A judge at the Bologna Juvenile Court has sentenced a 16-year-old boy to 17 years in prison for the aggravated murder of Aurora Tila, 13, who died in Piacenza on October 25, 2024, after falling from a seventh-floor balcony of the building where she lived.
The young man had been having an affair with the 13-year-old, which she later broke off. The trial was conducted under the abbreviated procedure. The prosecutor had requested a sentence of 20 years and 8 months, while the defense requested an acquittal.
"I'm satisfied with the 17-year sentence, even though 20 would have been better. But at least justice has been done. I've always believed in justice, I've said so from the beginning," said the 13-year-old's mother, Morena Corbellini.
