Attack on the former barracks: the Supreme Court confirms the 23-year sentence for Cospito

The Court of Cassation confirmed the final sentence of 23 years for Alfredo Cospito, detained under the 41 bis regime in the Sassari prison.
The decision of the judges of the VI criminal section came as part of the trial for the attack on the former Carabinieri student barracks in Fossano, dating back to 2006. The sentence issued last June 26th thus becomes definitive. The Supreme Court also reiterated the sentence of 17 years and 9 months to the other accused in the same trial, the anarchist Anna Beniamino.
The judges, accepting the request of the deputy general prosecutor Perla Lori, rejected the appeals of the Turin General Prosecutor's Office and the defence, which asked for a life sentence with daytime isolation for 12 months.
