"Yes, I'm the girl a boy lost his life for. I would ask you not to invent gossip by joking about the death of a boy who, by the way, I did everything possible to avoid arguments between the two."
An Instagram story with white characters on a black background. The words are from the underage girlfriend of Zouhair Atif, the 19-year-old arrested for stabbing his classmate Youssef Abanou to death .
A murder which, according to what Atif himself said, was based on the exchange of photos between the girl and the victim , who had known each other since they were children.
The Indian woman's post dates back to a few hours after the news of Abanou's death. " I never went to court to defend my boyfriend," she continues, "in fact, I didn't speak to him (as is right). I was subjected to something else (the reference is to a police interrogation, ed.). It was shocking for me too. Anyone who saw it, please speak up; anyone who knows, please write to me. Every testimony is important. I'll hear from everyone as soon as I can; I'm the only one who can do something, and I'll fight to the last for him and his family. My deepest condolences to the family, whom I'll try to contact as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, the uncle of the boy killed today met with Minister Valditara at the Prefecture in La Spezia. He called for "swift justice" and immediate action "to prevent further incidents like this."
A law is needed "now, before there are more victims. Not tomorrow, not after three or four victims, now," he said. A law that protects students in schools. "The victim is not one, there are five: the whole family, the mother is dying of grief."
