Assets worth 600 thousand euros were confiscated from Marco Raduano , the boss of Vieste (Foggia) sentenced to 19 years for the mafia and who escaped on 24 February from the Badu 'e Carros prison in Nuoro by lowering himself from the surrounding wall with a sheet.

The operation was carried out by the financiers of the economic-financial police unit of Bari at the request of the Prosecutor's Office and a provision issued by the Court of Appeal.

Raduano, investigators reconstructed in a long investigation, " has accumulated a huge fortune deriving from carrying out illicit activities and enjoyed a standard of living disproportionate to the legitimate income declared ".

During the investigations, contracts for the sale of houses and cars were analysed, as well as other public documents which involved the boss's entire family unit, "then verifying, for each transaction, the connected financial movements underlying the creation of the economic provision", they added the financiers.
