Tragedy during a hunting trip in the province of Terni.

A 57-year-old man, resident in a hamlet of Amelia, died following a hunting accident that occurred in the woods of the hamlet of Macchie.

From what has been learned, he was taking part in a wild boar hunt when he was hit in the calf by a bullet fired from a companion's rifle.

Rescued by 118, the man died despite the doctors' attempts to save his life.

The body has been made available to the judicial authority of Terni which will arrange for an autopsy to ascertain the causes of death.

The investigations are conducted by the Carabinieri.
