Abuse of the means of correction. This is the accusation with which a 62-year-old teacher, a teacher in an elementary school in Pavia, ended up on trial.

The complaint was presented in 2020 but only now is it known, with the start of the hearing.

As reported by the local press, it was the same school that raised the case: another teacher had explained that she had entered the class of her colleague under trial and had seen a child wearing a pair of donkey ears designed by a other little girl. According to the accusation it was the teacher who asked him for it. In addition, on various occasions she would have addressed the pupils calling them "beasts" and "imbeciles" , and placing a paper crown on the head of one with the words "The king of the donkeys".

For the defendant's lawyer these are "unfounded accusations" and the trial will prove the innocence of her client. Despite the complaint to the judicial authorities, no disciplinary proceedings were initiated: the teacher continued to teach and will soon retire.
