A fire broke out yesterday in a seven-story building at Via Bernardo Rucellai 20, Milan. An 80-year-old resident of the building died in the blaze.
According to initial reports, the flames started in the victim's apartment, located on the mezzanine floor, and quickly spread to the other rooms. The alarm was raised immediately: six firefighting teams responded to the scene, working for hours to extinguish the fire and secure the building.
Several apartment buildings were evacuated as a precaution. Six of them were treated by Areu medical personnel, who arrived with six emergency vehicles. Fortunately, none of the residents suffered injuries requiring hospitalization.
