A building collapses at dawn, killing one and injuring two.
In Porto Sant'Elpidio, bodies are being searched through the rubble. The explosion was likely caused by a gas cylinder exploding.

Tragedy struck this morning at dawn in Porto Sant'Elpidio (Fermo), where a building on Via Trentino collapsed after an explosion, possibly caused by a gas cylinder explosion. Initial reports indicate one person died, while two others were rescued and transported to Fermo hospital and, by air ambulance, to Torrette hospital in Ancona.
It was just after 5:00 a.m. when emergency services called 112 from the road adjacent to the Adriatica state road. Emergency medical personnel and firefighters are working to search for any bodies still under the rubble.
