A 5-year-old boy dies after falling ill in a swimming pool during summer camp.

Tragedy struck a municipal swimming pool in Monterotondo, near Rome. A five-year-old boy, in the water with 15 other children attending a summer camp, fell ill. CPR efforts were unsuccessful, and a rescue helicopter was also called.

The Carabinieri arrived on site and began investigations to clarify the causes and circumstances.
