The accident occurred in a furnace shed: the worker was moving the transformer with a forklift when the machinery overturned and he was crushed .

Firefighters arrived on the scene immediately in the early afternoon. Using a crane, they lifted the forklift and freed the worker's body. Emergency personnel could only pronounce him dead: he died instantly.

Inspectors from the local health authority (ASL) were also present at the company and have launched an investigation.
