The young worker involved in an accident at work that occurred on Thursday afternoon in the Bassette industrial area, on the outskirts of Ravenna , did not make it .

After a couple of days of agony, the 21-year-old boy— a foreigner born in Rimini and resident in Cesena— died yesterday at Cesena's Bufalini Hospital, where he had been taken intubated and without ever regaining consciousness.

In addition to the 118 emergency medical service, the Carabinieri from the Radiomobile and the Occupational Medicine inspectors of the Romagna Local Health Authority intervened on the scene.

According to initial reports, the 21-year-old, an employee of an external company, was busy maintaining the roof of a heavy vehicle repair shop when, around 4:30 p.m., he fell 8-10 meters into the building, possibly due to a side panel collapsing.

The prosecutor on duty, Ylenia Barbieri, will now open a case of manslaughter aggravated by the possible violation of regulations against accidents at work.
