It was a memorable European night for the Italian cup teams. Bologna secured a valuable Europa League victory, defeating FCSB 2-1 in Bucharest, while Fiorentina dominated the Conference League with a resounding 3-0 victory at Rapid Vienna.

In Romania, Italiano's team started strongly: after just a few minutes, Odgaard broke the deadlock with a precise finish, and just three minutes later Dallinga doubled the lead, giving the Rossoblu a 2-0 lead. In the second half, FCSB attempted to respond and closed the gap with Birligea, but Bologna held firm and took home three crucial points for their group standings.

In Vienna, however, Italiano's Fiorentina dominated from start to finish. They took the lead in the first half thanks to the young Ndour, then Dzeko doubled the lead with a masterful strike early in the second half. In the dying seconds, Gudmundsson sealed the 3-0 lead, sealing a match that had never really been in doubt.
